Waldorf inspired Parent-Tot at The Parsonage is a gentle playgroup for little ones birth to age four.

We move through our morning with the same rhythm each day: Upon arrival, you and your child are welcomed into our home gently, joining us to bake bread. We kneed the dough and sing our bread making song – sometimes making shapes from the soft, warm dough.

Then it's free play time; wooden toys and toys inspired by nature surround our play space and the children explore while the parents chat. Sometimes we might enjoy a seasonal craft with our little ones, sometimes the adults will craft as the children play. This is a relaxing and fun part of our day.

Next is clean-up time (with a song) and we begin our circle. Seasonal songs and rhymes change each month and with the energy of the day. A favorite time for us all!

At the close of circle time we wash-up for tea. We set the table together and after singing our blessing we snack on the bread we made and a piece of organic fruit or vegetable you brought to share. Some days we have a feast! This tea time is a wonderful time for parent education and support. Often we will share about books we have read or issues we face as parents. In this venue of support and non-judgment, we problem solve together and learn from one another.

After a quick clean-up, it's hats and coats on – no matter what the weather – for outside time. Our property is not overwhelmingly large (a child could not get lost) but boasts a gentle stream, small forest path, a gravel garden for digging, a small Japanese garden for raking, and surprises your little one will cherish.

Finally, we gather around the old tree stump to sing our goodbye song.

In addition to our weekly gatherings, we have one "field trip" each month (i.e. – October to the pumpkin patch), monthly parents-only craft nights and we participate in many festivals at Three Cedars School in Bellevue. Often parents will leave the goodbye circle and journey-on together to the park (if naptime allows!) and continue the fun.

Parent-Tot at The Parsonage meets once a week (see our calendar for holidays) on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 9am-11am. The cost from September to June is $850.00.
